CLASSIC ALBUMS: HYSTERIA DOCUMENTARY (2002) DVD
Def Leppard’s album Hysteria sold over 17 million copies, produced seven hit singles and brought worldwide superstardom to the band in 1988. This documentary programme takes a track by track look at the making of the album. Featured songs include Animal, Rocket, Love Bites and Armageddon It.
Owning this DVD is a MUST if you are a Steve Clark fan simply because this documentary is about his era and his work.
The other band members talk about him in places, some mentioning the vital importance of his contribution to the success of Def Leppard. It’s interesting to hear Phil Collen talk about how he and Steve would work with guitar parts in the studio together, and it’s also fascinating to see his demonstrations of pieces of songs too.
My disappointment was that the actual video footage of Steve featured that had never before been seen was only a mere 20 seconds or so. But it was worth it just for that 20 seconds.
It’s just disappointing that whenever an opportunity seems to present itself to show some rare footage of Steve, there never seems to be any real effort made to produce something special for his fans.
Be grateful he is mentioned and featured.
