ANNIVERSARY

8TH JANUARY

On the 8th January 1991 a horrible darkness entered my life bringing with it a heartache that is still felt today.

Steve – the forgotten Guitar Giant of the 80’s and my first and last human love. This was indeed the day the music died for me… and I think it would be reasonable to say that maybe even a part of me died too.

On one hand, I’m glad that you are no longer in this hellhole of a world, exposed to being used and abused, but on the other hand, I am so sad that  your unique talents were never fully realised. You were evolving and growing as a musician and you had so much more to offer.

What wonderful works could we have been treated to I have pondered many a time. You were too good for us.

I don’t think you realised yourself just how special you were Steve. Musically and otherwise you were a special man. You’re smile could light up the darkest corners of the world. You just oozed cool – naturally, effortlessly.

You were an icon like no other. The unsung hero. The reluctant hero.

Know that on this anniversary and forever you are remembered with fondness, gratitude and love by your fans and friends around the world.

Your legacy is embedded in music history. We know what your genius gave to so many. You were amazing.

Rest in peace gentle man,

Forever loved,

Always, Bev

Steve was really one of the main focuses for me. From their first record on, he was a fuckin’ rock star, with the attitude and everything. And I like playing guitar and being creative, but I also dig the attitude of the rock star trip. Not being an asshole or any of that stereotypical thing, but just some kind of suave coolness, and Steve had it.”
