Billy Pinnell interviewed Steve Clark for The Album Show on Triple M Radio Station, Melbourne, Victoria back in November 1989 when Clark spent some time down under fulfilling promotional/media duties. Billy Pinnell is one of Australia’s most respected and popular music broadcasters with a career spanning over 50 years. Today he has a podcast available called The Music Show.

Here Mr Pinnell speaks with Steve about how the band got together, the melodic nature of the song writing, producer Mutt Lange, Rick Allen’s accident, the recording of Hysteria and the band progressing and evolving with each album. It’s one of the nicest audio interviews I’ve heard and it’s wonderful to hear Steve’s voice.

At the end of the interview Billy comments on what “a lovely fellow” Steve was and hoped to see/meet Steve/Joe/the band again when they return to Australia at some point in the future.
