he red Gibson Firebird with 3 pick-ups was custom made for Steve Clark. It resembles a vintage Firebird VII but the position markers are trapezoids and the pegs are Grover Mini Rotomatics. Also, the centre / rear volume pot is a push-pull type coil tap switch for the centre and rear pick-ups. The bridge is a Kahler Tremolo system.

“I’m also using Firebirds, which have weaker pickups, for songs like “Too Late For Love” and “Love and Affection.” It’s a compromise between a Strat and a Les Paul. It’s got that bite to it but more warmth than a Strat. Gibson made me one which has the treble volume control push pot for splitting the coils.” – STEVE CLARK, 1988.
